I had a Facebook, I got it up the max of 5k friends and about 15k followers. The engagement was awesome but I lacked the control of my own content, how it appeared, in what order and worse what would be deleted or banned etc.. No control and no income (all content was under Facebooks venue).
Years ago I came up with the word incoprea. It wasn't in the dictionary so I used it and started a website with that name to put all my work. At first it was a mess but it was there and it had content. Only after Facebook and other sites like instagram started to change did I start spending more time workin on my own.
There is really no feedback loop on your own site, but there is total control and in that it becomes a piece of art too.
I posted an article about how MSTR btc fund was 11 billion dollars negative on their investment and Reddit deleted ALL of my videos, artwork and articles for the past 8 years (hundreds)... So, even though I only kept Reddit and Youtube, Reddit found a way to delete my work.
Youtube also recently let me know I was demonetized for using AI when the monetized my in 2026 WITH AI. A bit about youtube, most people have one viralvideo, once they realize it's virally, they have to apply for YouTube partnership, but the time is it approved the virility is mostly or all over with and the next one is not coming (probably) so they make 100%... Of course, for regular high subscriber shows or productions, it can be good revenue.
I worked with a clipart company once too, I created vector illustrations and they would put a percentage of every sale into my account, I could cash it out when it was over $100. Earned 98 then got an email about how their were reclaiming fees form contributors and it took all of that. WORK FOR YOURSELF ON YOUR OWN SITE...
So you have a site, maybe a blog (Thinking of an imaginary audience member helps me write in the tone someone might like to hear) Over time your site will shop up in searches but it doesn't hurt to promote it in sites like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, USE these sites to market your site, duplicate content (i.e. a new art piece is on your site AND Facebook)
Armor yourself by Creating your own domain, and backing it up.
You can find hosts that are affordable and top of the line, Mine is around $100 a year for domain and hosting with all the current updates. You can also host yourself (above my head).
